Conveyors & Equipment loses it's founder

John Gibson Morrison

1933 ~ 2012
On August 31, 2012 the Morrison family lost its patriarch, John.
He was born October 10, 1933 to Merlin R. Morrison and Edna Nelson Morrison. John graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. He married his beloved wife Gloria Evans Morrison on March 21, 1953. Together they founded Conveyors & Equipment a Utah company currently in its 40th year. John's passion was his business. He valued the relationships he built and strived to conduct business fairly and honestly. While managing risk, John was always moving forward, constructing a building for Conveyors & Equipment and building his own home. He founded Magnus Corporation and sold Eriez' magnet products to the end of his life. He was an active member of SME and Saturday Night Dance Club.

A five time winner of the Bonneville Austin Healey Club's "Rusty Wrench Award", John completed his Austin-Healey restoration just before his death. John drove his Elva Courier at Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing events including Steamboat Springs. John participated actively in car clubs and enjoyed the company of many other enthusiasts. John also enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, water skiing, auctions, and traveled extensively with his wife and family.

The slogan "Life is Good" drove John through good times and bad. He savored each day and saw the opportunity for further accomplishments and to learn something new. He held high expectations for his descendants and wanted to see each one rise to a new level of success.

John is survived by his children Ginger Goyzueta, Bret Morrison (Paige), Henry Morrison (Christine) and six grandchildren, Alex and Gina Goyzueta, Bret's sons Austin and Derrick and Henry's sons Connor and Jake. He is also survived by his brothers, Merlin and Michael, and sisters Marjorie and Kathleen.  His wife Gloria preceded him in death in April.

A celebration of John's life will be held at The Alta Club on Sept. 21st, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a toast at 6:00.
Donations may be made in his name to The Lustgarten Foundation.  (www.lustgarten.org).
